چکیده

Nepal’s political institutions and administrative units were thoroughly restructured in 2015 with the promulgation of new Constitution. Several rural areas combined to meet definition urban threshold criteria classify into categories. Accordingly, over 3,900 local amalgamated 753 units, which, 293 are classified as urban. Within these newly defined areas, many natural environments have been converted impervious surfaces such paved roads, sidewalks, building roofs. These drastically increased amount surface run-offs—often termed “urban floods” --under increasing precipitation caused by global climate change. incidences negatively impacted groundwater recharge processes areas.
Data on rates needed context change understand status Nepal. However, due various limitations, this study only focuses around Kathmandu Valley Nepal understand: a) how expansion urban, peri-urban, associated resulted decreasing recharges; b) is affected year-to-year variability (low high intensity) conversion landscape built-up areas; c) changing trends evapotranspiration may impact future availability. This based a review literature analysis secondary data available from government social media authors' professional experiences. The ends some recommendations experiences other parts world processes.

Element Content of Surface and Underground Water Sources around a Cement Factory Site in Calabar, Nigeria

Background: Cement production is associated with heavy metal emissions and environmental pollution by cement dust. The degree of contamination of drinking water sources by major and trace elements present in cement dust generated by united cement factory (UNICEM) is still uncertain. This study estimated the element content of ground and surface water samples (hand-dug wells, boreholes and strea...

Drinking water quality in Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley: a survey and assessment of selected controlling site characteristics

Water was sampled from over 100 sources in Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley, including municipal taps, dug wells, shallow-aquifer tube wells, deep-aquifer tube wells, and dhunge dharas (or stone spouts, public water sources that capture groundwater or surface water). Information was gathered on user preference and site and well characteristics, and water was examined for indicators of contamination fro...

Prediction of the Surface Run off in Semirom Mehregerd Watershed Using ARIMA Model

By understanding the temporal and spatial variations of water resources in a region, the better management and planning of water resources and water consumptions can be done. Time series modeling, if used correctly, will lead to acceptable results in this regard. For this purpose, the monthly runoff time series for 28 years was prepared at the hydrometric stations of Mehregerd region and the pr...

Describe the Traditional Rain Water Harvesting "Perch" Method in Boyerahmad Area

In recent decades, extensive research has been carried out to collect and store rain and runoff around the world. In addition to applying different water harvesting methods, and reducing the risk of runoff, other measures such as increasing soil moisture content and cultivation of tree and rangeland species have been studied. There are many water-related environmental problems which, according ...
